Failing at Life

Ohhh yes I fail at life. I formatted my camera card and I lost all my 100+ Otakon pictures. I had a lot of pictures of friends on there. It makes me unhappy. But whatever. The other reason I fail today is that I took pictures of my beret....and then promptly deleted them off my camera. Oh my. I need to pay more attention to what I'm doing, really I do.

Well, I've unravelled MOFriend's arm warmers because the k1p1 rib is boring and I'm going to try some stitch pattern called "zigzag eyelet" from the 99 Knit Stitches book my mom lent me. Since I can no longer use my pretty dark blue wool for Ashley, the friend in Baghdad, I think I am going to use that yarn for BF's socks and take that pretty blue and gray TOFUtsies yarn and make myself something out of it. I don't know what yet, but probably socks. Or maybe some lacy thing or....I don't know.

I've definitely settled on a pair of knee-high socks for me. They're Knitty's Spring 07 clessidra socks and I love the cable. It'll be my first attempt at a cable, though I'm reasonably sure I'm up to the challenge.

In un-knitting related news, I may get more/better hours at work come the school year. Nicole, the girl who works with me in the afternoon got an offer from one of the mothers to be an aide for her older son at the local elementary school come September and she's snapped at the chance like a piranha at a cow carcass. Which means that unless my employers are assholes and hire someone to take her place and leave me where I am, there's a 90% chance I'll be taking her position. I only say 90% because you never know with these people. They could move me into the infant room for all I know. God forbid they do, though. I love kids, and babies are great...but when there's just two adults with six infants...too much baby for me.

As a side note, I was pondering starting a web comic.

This is hardly failure. As long as you learn something, it is not failing. Failing is not trying at all. Ok, pep talk over. I'd like to see the beret....
